Recall Acquires Infoshred Pty Limited

Recall Acquires Melbourne-based document destruction business of Infoshred Pty Limited. K-2 Partners acted as exclusive advisor to the sellers of Melbourne, Australia-based Infoshred Pty Limited.

July 24, 2011  –  Recall, a global leader in records storage, secure document destruction, digital solutions and data protection, announced it has acquired the Melbourne-based document destruction business of Infoshred Pty Ltd.

Founded in 2002, Infoshred is a privately-owned secure document destruction company operating in Australia. Recall acquired the service and collection component of Infoshred’s secure destruction business.

Recall ANZ President Dan McFarland said this acquisition supports the company’s growth strategy and will expand its footprint in Victoria, an extremely important area for companies in Australia and for Recall.

According to McFarland, the company makes significant investments every year to improve its operations, enhance security and safety, and develop new services to meet its customers changing needs.

McFarland reiterated that he believes the newly acquired customers will benefit from these investments as well as Infoshred’s experience as a global leader in this industry.

This strategic acquisition will allow the company to leverage existing infrastructure to better serve and expand its customer base. The cultures of Recall and Infoshred have a similar focus on customer service and support, and together the companies have jointly communicated the change in ownership to these customers, said McFarland.

Recall is a global leader in managing information in multiple formats throughout its lifecycle. Recall has approximately 300 dedicated operation centers, spanning five continents, in over 20 countries, servicing nearly 80,000 customers worldwide and is owned by Brambles Limited.

In 1999, Brambles, a multi-billion-dollar global support services company, brought together a worldwide network of document management companies under the Recall name. At the time, Recall was a US$10 million records management company. Today, the company is a US$750 million lifecycle information management company.

Brambles’ first acquisition outside of Australia in records management was made in 1991 when they bought the Vault Company in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

The company applies best-in-class solutions for small proprietorships to large multi-national corporations across a range of industries including: Financial, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Legal, Government, Academic, Manufacturing, Business Services, Entertainment as well as Consumer/Packaged Goods.

Since 2002, Infoshred has provided 1000’s of clients in Victoria with the most professional and innovative document shredding and paper recycling services in a highly secure, cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.

The company’s clients range from larger corporations to small businesses and individuals through all of Melbourne Metro, Geelong and some Victorian country locations.
